Formula:

1/4 Acre = 1/2 HP aerator
1/3 Acre = 3/4 HP aerator
1/2 Acre = 1 HP aerator
3/4 Acre = 1 1/2 HP aerator
Calculate Lake surface area:

Rectangular: A= (LxW)- Multiply length in ft by width in ft.

Circular: A= 3.14 x (r2)- sq. radius then multiply by Pi (3.14)
To get total acres, divide the surface area by 43,560.

To Calculate units required:

Example; Lake is 220 W x 370 L (220 x 370 = 81,400 sq ft.

Acre= 81,400 sq ft. / 43,560 = 1.87 acres- (round up to 2)

Lake requires either:

(2) 1 1/2 HP aerating units under normal conditions
(2) 2 HP aerating units in warm climates or with heavy algae
Tips for better water quality:

Begin aeration prior to hot weather and algae build-up
Treat excessive algae prior to first aeration- ask us how
